According to the Panola County Sheriff’s Department, around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, the 911 call center received a call from a resident on Pope-Water Valley Road saying that a 79-year-old with dementia possibly wandered off from his house.

Panola County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene.

Sgt. Marieo Preseley deployed with his K-9 Lambo to search for the man.

In a matter of just a few minutes, K-9 Lambo located the man in a neighbor’s yard about 200 yards from his home.

If Sgt. Preseley and K9 Lambo had not responded so quickly and efficiently, this could have ended much differently.

Thankfully, the man was okay and did not need medical attention.
