The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Drug Enforcement Agency that happened on June 3.
An agent and task force officer (TFO) were transporting two subjects to the Federal Courthouse in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
During transportation, an altercation occurred between the agent and one of the subjects resulting in the agent receiving injuries.
The TFO discharged his weapon striking the subject. Both the agent and subject were transported to a local hospital.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
