The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League (BARL) is calling for Cuddle Volunteers to help socialize shy and abandoned animals. Many of these animals, often dumped as puppies, have had little to no human interaction, making it challenging for them to adapt and become adoptable.
Cuddle Volunteers can make a significant impact by spending time with these animals, even just sitting in their kennels. Introducing them to simple things like a leash can greatly improve their chances of finding a forever home.
BARL invites volunteers to visit from Thursday to Sunday, 12-3 PM, to cuddle and interact with the dogs. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a book and a lawn chair. This enrichment helps prepare the animals for future families.
