On Tuesday, August 19, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 532 in Covington County.
The collision involved a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 17-year-old Tristan T. Hutton and a 2003 Dodge Ram driven by 59-year-old Jerry McDonald of Taylorsville, Mississippi.
The Chevrolet Malibu, traveling east on Highway 532, collided with the Dodge Ram, which was heading west.
Josiah Hutton, a 12-year-old passenger in the Malibu, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tristan Hutton and Jerry McDonald were both transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
