A Columbus man has been given $25,000 in bonds for burglary and stalking charges, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department.

Robert Adam Willock, 41, faces charges of Burglary and Felony Stalking after deputies responded Friday to the area of the 5800 block of Hwy 12 East in reference to a stalking incident.

Once on the scene, deputies spoke with the victim who said that Willock was hired for some odd jobs around the residence and over the last week his behavior had escalated. The victim said that Willock professed his love, but she had laughed at him and turned him down. Since then, she said Willock had become angry.

Recently, authorities say Willock was found sleeping on the victim’s property despite not having permission to do so. Willock allegedly later chased the victim with a knife and during another recent incident, Willock got inside the victim’s vehicle where the victim told police she later found tape, rope, a large knife, and a wire garrote that he left behind.

The victim said that Willock stole a set of keys to a barn on the property from her home. The victim told police she later found the barn had been ransacked and items were overturned and property was broken. Some of the victim’s items had allegedly been spray painted.

Authorities say the victim expressed being terrified and no longer feels safe and fears what Willock might do.

Willock was given a $10,000 bond for the burglary charge and $15,000 for the Felony Stalking charge. He remains in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
