According to WTVA, a 17-year-old Coffeeville athlete was killed in Pennsylvania.

The York County Coroner’s Office, told WTVA that Quinterrion Smith was visiting Springettsbury Township, Pennsylvania with his basketball team.

The incident happened on July 11.

WTVA reports that he and his friends were trying to cross a road a little after 10 p.m. when a vehicle hit Smith.

He was critically injured and pronounced dead just before noon the next day in the hospital, according to the coroner’s report.

“It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Quinterrion Smith, a beloved student here at Coffeeville High School,” the post read. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. The loss of Quin will be deeply felt by all who knew him.”
