According to WTVA, the City of Booneville has approved the construction of a Safe Haven Baby Box.
The matter was voted on July 16.
The baby box will be installed at the city’s fire station near downtown Booneville.
WTVA said a man named John Caviness, who has been pushing for its installation, said all that’s left is to finish the paperwork.
The box will be shipped and installed in about four weeks.
A Baby Box is a device that allows a mother or other individual to safely and anonymously abandon a baby.
