The body of a man discovered in a wood line near Rice Road on August 7, 2024, has been identified through DNA results as 48-year-old Howard Hendren Hennessey, of Vicksburg.
At the time of its discovery, the body was lying on the woodline of an area on Rice Road across the street from the craft center.
Ridgeland Police Chief Myers said the body appeared to have been there for quite some time, likely at least four weeks. He said the body was wearing nice running shoes, shorts, and a T-shirt.
Hennessey had been reported missing from Vicksburg on July 13, 2024.
Authorities have not released further details, as the investigation is ongoing.
The Ridgeland Police Department extended its thoughts and prayers to Hennessey’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
