According to WTVA, Okolona police are investigating after the body of a man was found hanging from a tree.
He was identified as 45-year-old Jerrel Gillentine Jr., of Golden, Mississippi.
Police said his body was found hanging from a tree off Laster Drive in the Okolona area.
Police Chief Tommy Ivy said they got the call around 4:00 p.m. Thursday. Chickasaw County Deputy Coroner Eric Smith did not say how long the body had been in the tree.
An autopsy will be taken in Pearl to determine the cause of death.
Okolona police said this investigation is ongoing.
