Beside Still Waters: He’s always there

“… I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.” – 2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬

That first photo was taken last night, and the second one was taken this morning. I know, like clockwork, that that crane (as I like to say, “stork bird”) will always be over on that corner. If not, she will be clearly visible along the bank of the lake. She always stays close to her nest, she always protects it when the big blue heron or the alligators come.

I know that’s where I’ll find her. So why is it so hard for us to find God sometimes? We know where he is. He’s always right there protecting us from the alligators. 😊

I love this verse because we commonly say things like, “I know that person, they’re going to do what they said.” In this verse, Paul is saying, “I know God. He’s going to do what he says.”

As you get close to him, learn his promises. There are so many of them, and one very important one to me is Jeremiah 29:11.

“‘I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.’”

He’s there, sure as my bird, sure as the sun rises, sure as the breath you take. Even more dependable than your very best friend. Trust him, even when it doesn’t seem to make sense. He has plans to prosper you. ❤️

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
‭- 2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ ‭
