According to WTVA, Baldwyn police arrested a man for attempted murder.
Police said 26-year-old Xzavier Hughes allegedly shot his fiance in the mouth and neck.
Hughes was charged with attempted murder and child endangerment in the Tuesday morning shooting that happened on Walter Street.
WTVA reports that the victim was taken to a hospital in Tupelo and transferred to a Memphis hospital for further treatment.
A 2-year-old child was living with the couple and police found marijuana, guns, and alcohol in the apartment.
Hughes was given a $750,000 bond.
