On Friday, May 31, at approximately 8:50 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a 22-year-old female reporting an assault by 40-year-old Walter French, of Tunica, Mississippi, at 1026 Cedar Drive.
Deputies and an investigator from the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office arrived and spoke with the complainant, initiating an investigation into the domestic violence case. Walter French was not there when deputies arrived, leading to a warrant being issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, June 6, Walter French turned himself in at the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office and was booked into the Tunica County Jail at approximately 6:22 p.m. He was later released on his own recognizance.
French is scheduled to appear in Tunica County Justice Court on June 20, 2024.
