An arrest has been made in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in Tupelo earlier this month.

Between August 12 and August 19, officers responded to burglaries at Clayton Homes on South Gloster Street, a business at 2401 South Gloster Street, and a job site on Bissell Road. Several thousand dollars worth of equipment and appliances were reported stolen from these locations.

Following an investigation, 57-year-old Edward L. Baker, of Tupelo, was arrested on August 27 and charged with three counts of burglary of a commercial building. On August 28, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir ordered that Baker be held without bond.

The charges against Baker will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury for further action.
