A man was injured in a fight Tuesday evening in the 1700 block of 20th Avenue.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m., and the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Acting Captain Dareall Thompson of the Meridian Police Department said the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Thompson said this was not a “stabbing,” but the victim was cut during the fight.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, but police are aware of the suspect’s identity and charges are expected to be filed.
Thompson noted that the incident is considered isolated.
The investigation is ongoing.
