According to the rescue, the weekend began Friday with a call about a small puppy found abandoned under a car. The group said the puppy, now named Winston, is about 6 weeks old and was heavily covered in fleas when he was found.

Safe Haven Rescue said Winston was given a bath, flea treatment, fresh food and water, and has since received his first vaccines and begun deworming treatment.

The rescue also took in two doodles over the weekend, according to the organization. One, a nearly 2-year-old dog now named Chappie, was being given away. Another, a 3-year-old goldendoodle named Kash, was surrendered after the owners said they had too many dogs.

The rescue said Kash is underweight and needs grooming and neutering.

In the middle of those rescues, the group said a local animal control officer asked for help with a heavily pregnant dog. Safe Haven Rescue said the dog, now named Sweet Caroline, was placed in foster care and gave birth the next morning.

According to the rescue, Sweet Caroline delivered 10 puppies, including seven males, two females and one stillborn.

Safe Haven Rescue said it is now low on funds and is asking for donations as it continues caring for the animals.

The rescue is located in Monticello, Mississippi and relies on support from the community to help them to continue helping animals. Please consider donating and making a difference.
