Tree identification seminar available in Yalobusha County Saturday

There will be a Tree Identification program on Saturday, October 5, at the Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery Visitor Education Center from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The program will be be presented by Brady Self, the Northwest Mississippi Forestry Specialist with MSU Extension.

The tree identification course is for anyone interested in learning how to identify trees occurring in north Mississippi. The program will consist of a presentation and a hands-on field tour of the trees located around the Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery and VEC.

The program is included with the price of admission. Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18 – 59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60.

The hatchery is located below Enid Dam in Yalobusha County, Exit 233 off of I-55. (Note: GPS will not locate the address.)
