On September 20, Narcotics Investigators from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office conducted a proactive operation in the Nicholson area of Picayune. During their patrol, they noticed a vehicle blocking the road at 121 Daisy Dr.

Officers made contact with the occupant, 50-year-old Sergio Williams.

Familiar with Williams’ extensive criminal history, the investigators noted his suspicious behavior, which prompted them to request that he step outside into the yard. Before complying, Williams was seen reaching into his waistband and tossing an item onto the porch.

His actions provided probable cause for his detention. When investigators attempted to detain him, Williams actively resisted but was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.

A subsequent search of the porch area revealed a distribution amount of methamphetamine that Williams had tried to conceal.

He has been charged with Tampering with Evidence, Possession with Intent to Distribute, and Assault on an Officer.
