Stone County man with warrants allegedly burgles church, gives fake name

A Stone County man has been arrested on charges that he stole items from a church.

According to a release, on Thursday, Stone County deputies responded when a member of a church reported a suspicious person walking around the building. The caller later found items missing from inside.

While en route to the church, patrol deputies came across Joshua Ladner walking down the road. Ladner’s clothing and physical description matched those given by the caller.

Ladner refused to identify himself, but later provided a false name. Police say he likely did that because he has arrest warrants outside of Stone County.

After further investigation, it was determined Ladner was allegedly responsible for the church burglary and he was arrested.

Ladner is charged with Commercial Burglary and several other misdemeanors.
