Don’t forget to check out the sky tonight!

Experts say a harvest moon, a supermoon and a partial lunar eclipse will take place Tuesday evening. The Moon, which will look red for a period of time during the eclipse, will be close to Earth, making it look larger and brighter, starting around 7:41 p.m. It’s expected to peak at 9:44 p.m. Central Time.

The is the second of 2024’s four supermoons, after a rare blue supermoon in August.

While the eclipse is specifically Tuesday evening, the supermoon will be visible every night from Monday to Thursday. The Old Farmer’s Almanac says this supermoon will appear at the same time every night — at sunset.

For those looking to get an early start, the moon will enter into Earth’s partial shadow beginning at 7:41 p.m. You can look up your specific moonrise time for your area by using  this tool from the Farmer’s Almanac.
