Tropical Storm Francine is expected to hit Mississippi with rain beginning this evening. Here is a list of school districts and colleges/universities that are closing ahead of the storm.
Governor Tate Reeves declared a State of Emergency in preparation for the storm.

Jackson County School District is closed Wednesday and leadership will be evaluating to see if they will open Thursday.

Ocean Springs School District is closed Wednesday and they will make a decision for Thursday sometime this evening.
Pascagoula-Gautier School District is closed today (Wednesday) and a decision will be made by 6:00 p.m. if schools will remain closed Thursday

- Closed Thursday, Residence halls remain open, dining is available

- Closed Wednesday for classes that start at 3:30 p.m. or later
The University of Southern Mississippi
- Closed Thursday until noon in all Hattiesburg and Coast locations
William Carey University
- All locations will close Wednesday including campuses in Tradition/Biloxi, Hattiesburg and Baton Rouge. A decision on campus closures for Thursday will be made Wednesday evening.
