A local marina is offering $500 for the safe return of a missing white Cockatoo named Buddy.

Buddy was the constant companion of “Scooba” Steve Cermak, a Reservoir area man who was well-known by much of the community. Cermak experienced a medical condition over the weekend and was found dead in the Reservoir after his boat was found floating unmanned. Buddy was nowhere to be found.

Main Harbor Marina posted on Wednesday, saying they are offering a reward for information leading to the bird’s safe return.

“While several area residents know the story of Buddy, there may be someone out there who has found Buddy in the Reservoir area and does not know his history. Scuba Steve’s family is anxious to have him returned,” the post reads. “Main Harbor Marina would like to publicize the recovery effort around Buddy and would like to offer a $500 reward for information leading to the safe return of Buddy.”
