Morgan Howard

Early this morning, at approximately 7:02 a.m., a Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper initiated a traffic stop on US 61 near York Road in Adams County involving a 2017 white Ford Fiesta.

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Hollis Louis Green from Natchez, attempted to flee the scene. During the pursuit, Green discharged multiple rounds toward the pursuing trooper.

The trooper momentarily lost sight of Green but soon discovered the abandoned vehicle at a residence on Lincoln Heights Road in Adams County. Following a thorough search of the area, troopers successfully located Green at approximately 9:38 a.m.

Green, found in possession of a firearm, was taken into custody without further incident. He has been booked into the Adams County Jail and faces several charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, felony fleeing, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, along with various misdemeanor violations.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol extends its gratitude to all the troopers who quickly responded to this dangerous situation and coordinated efforts to ensure a safe resolution. Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
