On December 9, at 6:30 p.m. officers were called to Peters and Kathleen Street for a car crash in which a pedestrian had been hit.
The vehicle involved left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival.
Police identified the pedestrian who was hit as 67-year-old David Sanders of Moss Point. Sanders was pronounced dead on scene.
Detectives and patrol officers were able to identify the suspect vehicle and its driver from witness accounts and nearby surveillance video.
On December 13, at 2:30 p.m., patrol officers found and stopped the suspect’s vehicle.
Angelo Ash, of Moss Point, was arrested on the felony charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Injury or Death.
