On Monday, January 23, at approximately 7 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on 613 in Jackson County involving a bicyclist.
A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 19-year-old Dawson Dye of Moss Point, MS, was traveling north on 613 when it collided with 50-year-old Stephanie Marcantel of Moss Point, MS, riding a bicycle traveling north on Highway 613.
Stephanie Marcantel received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
