11 Injured, 1 Ejected After Bus Carrying South Carolina Students Crashes In Hancock County

WLOX reports that a charter bus carrying students from the University of South Carolina crashed in Hancock County.

At least 11 were injured in the crash with one person being ejected.

WLOX said the crash happened on I-10 westbound past Highway 603 in Hancock County.

MHP said the bus was carrying 59 occupants at the time of the wreck. A lot of the passengers were students from the University of South Carolina.

9 are being transported via ambulance and 2 are being taken via helicopter to nearby hospitals. The statuses of those injured are unknown at this time.

WLOX said that westbound I-10 traffic is being diverted at Kiln Delisle Road.

Drivers are asked to avoid this area if possible.
