Jackson police are investigating an incident that happened Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. where a baby was kidnapped and a man was shot to death.
According to Officer Sam Brown, at 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 3700 block of Jayne Avenue in reference to a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a 42-year-old man who had been shot multiple times inside the home. Police learned that a 10-month old child had also been taken from the home.
Police said they learned that a 23-year-old white female, and 3 black males wearing masks, kicked in the back door, robbed the residents, and murdered the man before taking the 10-month-old at gunpoint.
The female was arrested at a gas station on Lynch Street and the baby was also found safely there.
Johnson was charged with Capital Murder, Armed Robbery of An Individual, Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, and Kidnapping.
Police say more charges and arrests are forthcoming for the other three suspects.
