Andrew Moore Luckhurst, 44, of Eustis, Florida, has been arrested in Harrison County after police say he had beaten and strangled a woman to death.

According to Sheriff Troy Peterson, Luckhurst was charged today with first degree murder.

Peterson said Harrison County Dispatch got a 911 call of a medical emergency with CPR in progress, and when deputies arrived at the scene at 18059 Robinson Road, Apt. 335 in Gulfport, they found a dead woman with bruising and fresh blood on her face and head.

Investigators were able to determine that she had blunt force trauma to the body and had been strangled. They believed Luckhurst, the victim’s former boyfriend, to be the person responsible.

Further investigation uncovered that the woman had a restraining order against Luckhurst in Florida. He was booked into the Harrison County Jail where he will be held with no bond.
