2022 Trail of Honor Coming to Jackson This Week

The Trail of Honor is A Tribute To All American Veterans and the only Three-Time Recipient of the Shining Example Award for the Best Event in the Southern 12 States.
The Trail of Honor is free and open to the public beginning on Saturday May 21 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Sunday May 22 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Buses will run every 15-20 minutes from off-site parking located at the Mississippi Coliseum and the Jackson Pistol Range located on McDowell RD.
Motorcycle and Handicapped parking is available on-site.
This family-friendly event that is focused on educating today’s citizens on past U.S. conflicts.
The 2022 Trail of Honor with the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall Escort from Camp Shelby MS on Thursday May 19. All motorcycles are welcome to participate.
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall opening ceremony will be held at 4:00 pm on May 20 at Harley-Davidson of Jackson.
This event is open to the public and The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be open 24 hours a day from 4:00 pm Friday 20 May 2022 – Monday 23 May 2022 at 3:00 pm.
New to the Trail of Honor this year is the Some Gave All Moving Tribute; honoring all lost from Desert Storm to present, including 9/11
Walk the half mile trail through time, and meet with Living Historians representing every conflict the United States has ever been in.
These Living Historians provide a ‘first hand’ account of what it was like to fight during their era. They are in full uniform or clothing of the time, with weapons and equipment used by those who fought for America. There will be weapons demonstrations throughout the day, from muzzle loaders, to cannons, to machine guns.
Each day we will have 2 Reenactments:
Civil War at *1:00 pm
Vietnam at *3:00 pm
*all times subject to change
The Through the Eyes Traveling Museum will provide incredible display of equipment, weapons, mementos, and photographs by John Hossier, Combat Cameraman, Vietnam.
Military assets such as rotary wing aircraft such as the Blackhawk, Chinook, Lakota, and Apache as well as ground equipment such as the M1A1 Abrams Tank and other military equipment will also be available for viewing.
For those that want a real thrill, Friends of Army Aviation out of Ozark Alabama will be offering lifts on the iconic UH-1 Huey Helicopter Rides. Helicopter ride cost will be determined based on fuel prices at the time of the event and help to cover the maintenance cost to keep these vintage workhorses flying. It is well worth the donation.
Lifts will be available at the Bruce Campbell Field Madison MS on Friday afternoon 20 May 2022, time TBD; at the Trail of Honor from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Saturday, and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. *Weather permitting.
The MS Wing of the Commemorative Air Force will provide the Trail of Honor with fixed wing air support such as Formation Flyovers for the event, and Top Cover for the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall Escort. They will also be hosting an open house on May 21 at their hanger located at Bruce Campbell Field in Madison MS.
