Veteran Jackson Police Officer Found Dead At Fiance’s Home

A veteran Jackson Police Officer was found dead at his fiance’s home this morning. He is believed to have died from natural causes.
JPD Captain Lee Robinson joined the department in February of 1995, and served for over 28 years.
“We are deeply saddened to lose one of our own today,” said Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba. “Captain Robinson represents the best of our dedicated city employees, and devoted his life to protecting others. We will miss him dearly and send our condolences to his family, friends and work colleagues.”
Interim Police Chief Joseph Wade. said,

“The hearts of the men and women of the Jackson Police Department are heavy today, as we mourn the loss of our brother Captain Lee Robinson. I have nothing but admiration and respect for Captain Robinson who began his career with the department back in February of 1995. He was a true officer who loved his work and loved the people of Jackson. Protecting our residents and ensuring the safety of our community was one of his deepest passions and we will be forever grateful. We send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. We are immeasurably indebted to you. The city of Jackson and its Police Department stand with the Robinson family now and forever.”
