UPDATE: December 14, 4:23 p.m.

Reports are still coming in on tornadic activity early Wednesday morning around the state.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Lance Terrilloux said storm and damage reports so far show confirmed tornadoes and flooding in various areas.

So far tornadoes have been confirmed coming through Anguilla in Sharkey County, as well as one meteorologists are still tracking as of 8:30 a.m. that had traveled from Forest to Newton. There was damage in and around Issaquena County as well, he said.

Other possible tornadoes that came through are just awaiting official confirmation, such as the apparent one that hit the Johns community in Rankin County. EOC Director Mike Word said a row of chicken houses were destroyed on Gaddis Myers, and a roof was blown off a trailer into a greenhouse on Rock Hill Road.

These are preliminary reports. Both state and local Emergency Operations Centers and the National Weather Service will continue to assess the damage throughout the day.
