Authorities have taken the suspect accused of killing in Ocean Springs man who responded to an ad for an ATV for sale into custody after a search that lasted several days.
According to Supervisory Inspector Carlos Cosby, Montavious Landfair was taken into custody by United States Marshals Friday in Durant.
Landfair was wanted in the death of Kyle Craig, who had driven to Holmes County from the coast to buy a 4-wheeler he found on sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Craig’s family reported him missing, which began the search. He was found shot to death on Long Branch Road near a truck stop in Holmes County, robbed of a large amount of money he had taken with him to buy the ATV.
A juvenile was arrested and others could be charged as accessories, but police are still working to find Landfair.
Landfair is known to law enforcement after being arrested in 2019 for calling in bomb threats to local schools. Information came in regarding bomb threats made to several schools, and even while the investigation went on, the threats continued.
