Two women were killed in a wreck on I-59 in Hattiesburg.

The wreck happened last Friday, August 2 on I-59. It involved multiple vehicles.

The Hattiesburg Police Department identified the victims as 66-year-old Peggy Herron and 56-year-old Lisa Foster, both residents of Hattiesburg.

The crash, which tied up northbound lanes for hours, also left another individual in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. Three others suffered minor injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing.
