On October 3, Tishomingo County 911 received several calls reporting a possible fire in the area of Hill Road in Tishomingo.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department responded to the area along with the Fire Department.
Once the fire was located at 13 Hill Road the home was fully engulfed in flames.
As firefighters were trying to put out the fire, they found human remains inside the home.
Investigators with the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department and State Fire Marshal’s Office were called to the scene.
After a preliminary investigation, it was determined that there was believed foul play involved in this fire.
Two individuals who were reported to have been at the residence on the prior day, were questioned. After being questioned, those two individuals were criminally charged with the following crimes:
Randy Barrett Kelly of Tishomingo, Mississippi, was charged with First Degree Murder, Arson, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Kelly is being held on a $825,000.00 bond.
James Matthew Richardson of Blue Springs, Mississippi, was charged with First Degree Murder. Mr. Richardson is being held on a $750,000 bond.
The name of the victim in this crime is being withheld pending further forensic investigation. This is still an ongoing investigation.
