Authorities are investigating after two people were killed in an officer-involved shooting in Yazoo City on Thursday, September 16.
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers confirmed two people were killed on W. Broadway Street, near the corner of N Mound Street. They have not been identified at this time.
According to Jacob Gallant at WLBT, a Nissan Altima at the scene was littered with bullet holes. A man was inside the vehicle when he was shot. A woman died on the ground outside the vehicle.
Yazoo County Sheriff Jacob Sheriff confirmed that an officer was involved, but gave no further details at this time. Sheriff said the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations was headed to Yazoo City.
