Two Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Gun from Scene of Fatal Tunica County Crash

A deadly accident on Monday, September 23, claimed the lives of two drivers in Tunica County. The crash happened at the intersection of Casino Strip Extended and Kirby Road, involving two vehicles that sustained extensive damage.

Tunica County Sheriff’s Deputies and first responders arrived to find both drivers dead.

The victims have been identified as 29-year-old Nicholas Paul Stafford and 36-year-old Ruby Gene Watney both of Tate County.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that a firearm had been stolen from the scene of the accident. Within 48 hours, two individuals, 59-year-old Jonathan Parr and 42-year-old Christina Brumback both of Hernando, were arrested in connection with the stolen firearm.

Parr faces charges of possession of a stolen firearm and a felon in possession of a stolen firearm. Brumback is being charged as an accessory after the fact. The stolen firearm has since been recovered.

The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office thanked the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office for their help in the investigation.
