UPDATE: Escapees Believed To Be In Adams County After Woman Shot, Carjacked At A Church

UPDATE: Taylor Lynette, a sister of one of the escapees posted on Facebook saying “Head up chest out baby boy, we love you”.
Sheriff Patten said she is the sister of Tayson Holmes.
UPDATE: 4 p.m., January 8:
According to Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten, the escapees are believed to be involved in a shooting and carjacking in Adams County this afternoon.
Sheriff Patten told residents to be looking for a gold Ford Fusion after he said the escapees allegedly carjacked a woman on U.S. 61 North. The license plate on the car is ADC8276.
He said they received a call about a woman being carjacked on U.S. 61 North. She was at Stanton Baptist Church and Sheriff Patten said she was shot two times during the carjacking. She was shot once in the neck and once in the back after she refused to give them her cell phone.
UPDATE: 3:30 p.m., January 8:
According to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones, authorities have learned that the escapees are believed to be involved in an early morning carjacking that happened near Fortification Street.
A white Med-Transit Dodge van was taken here and Capitol police are now investigating that incident.
The van was last seen on I-20 westbound exiting Hinds County shortly after noon today.
The carjacked van was recovered in Adams County this afternoon.
Sheriff Jones said that it is believed that the escapees carjacked another vehicle there. This vehicle was a gold Ford Fusion with MS tag#ADC8276.
The escapees should be considered armed and dangerous.

The vehicle used by the three escapees was recovered in the 1900 block of Wilson Street in Jackson.

According to the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department, three juveniles have escaped Henley Young Patton Youth Detention Center and escaped in a stolen vehicle that authorities believe has a gun in it.
Robert Smith, 16; Tayshon Holmes, 17; and Jashon Jones, 15 escaped from the detention center following a large disturbance, according to Sheriff Tyree Jones. They allegedly stole a blue 2007 Jeep Liberty with Mississippi tag #CFB 0901 from the parking lot.
Three additional youth detainees were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the disturbance and prior to the escapes. Their injuries are non-life threatening.
A gun is believed to be in the vehicle the escapees allegedly stole. Authorities say the Hinds County Administrator’s office is the contact for information on the case, while HCSO is conducting the investigation.
