St. Paddy’s Kids Parade set to hit downtown Brandon on March 18

Darkhorse Press

Brandon042 Events LLC has announced the Inaugural Brandon St Paddy’s Kids’ Parade in Downtown Brandon MS on Saturday March 18th 2023.

This will be a family friendly event, and full of fun. Festivities should begin at 9am CT, with a coffee trailer, face painting, a DJ & music, some jump houses, and lots of St Patrick’s Day themed trinkets and decorations.

The parade line-up will be at 9:45am CT, and then embark on a route around Downtown Brandon. Don’t worry, the parade won’t go too fast, as it’ll go at the pace of children on their favorite bikes, trikes, big wheels, razors, and the like (nothing motorized please). After the parade, there will be prizes for the best decorated kid/bike, in 3 age groups: 0-4 years of age, 5-8 years of age, and 9-12 years of age. So feel free to get crazy with the St Paddy’s theme, decorate your bike, wear that goofy outfit, hat, green hair, etc. Staging and primary parking for the parade will be in the parking lot at First Methodist Church at 205 Mary Ann Dr. There are about 80 parking places in that lot, so once it’s full, just park elsewhere in the downtown area (the parking lot at the intersection of Dining St & Poindexter St will be CLOSED for the parade). There will also be a goody bag for the first 250 participants. So be sure to Pre-Register for the Parade, by filling out the form.

NOTE: Pre-Registration is REQUIRED in order to participate in the parade. All kids are welcome, and it’s FREE.

“Demand for bike slots is already high. We anticipate a packed field, and a ton of family fun,” says event organizer, Lance Stevens. “After the parade, we encourage you to mingle in Downtown Brandon… do some shopping, take in some dining at one of the wonderful restaurants. Several of these businesses are also sponsors for this FREE event. We hope you consider showing appreciation for the sponsors by patronizing their businesses. A full list of sponsors is available on our FAQ page.”

There is more information on the parade on the Brandon042 website, complete with a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
