A Golden Triangle TV station is reporting that human bones were found today by a logging crew in Itawamba County may be the remains of a teen who has been missing for over a decade.
WCBI reports that the bones are being taken to the State Crime Lab for positive identification. At first Sheriff Chris Dickinson declined to speculate about the identity of the remains, but WCBI later reported that Dickinson identified the remains as those of 18 year old Jamie Wright, who has been missing since 2008.
Dickinson told WCBI that Wright’s jacket, wallet and ID were found by investigators who were scouring the area where the skeletal remains were found.
The logging crew that found the bones, including a skull, were working near State Line Road. Dickinson said the bones were not concealed in any way and were out in the open.
This is an ongoing investigation.
