The Jones County Sheriff’s Department, in collaboration with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, is actively searching for a suspect who fled from Wayne County deputies into Jones County.

The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Danny Pettit, crashed his vehicle on Jesse Malone Road in eastern Jones County and fled the scene on foot. Pettit is described as a white male wearing blue jeans and no shirt, though he may have a yellow shirt in his possession.

Pettit was last seen with a handcuff on his left hand and is possibly armed. Authorities consider him dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding Danny Pettit’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
