According to WMC, The Panola County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged rapper and songwriter “Superstar Pride” with first-degree murder.
The arrest happened after a man was shot and killed in Sardis, Mississippi, on Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Department said that around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities were called to a home on Highway 35 North. They found 40-year-old Marcus Wheatley had been shot multiple times.
He was pronounced dead on scene.
During the investigation, WMC reports that information was developed that 20-year-old Cadarrius Pride, aka “Superstar Pride” was the suspect.
According to Chief Deputy Reginald Lantern, Pride’s family members contacted authorities and told them that he wanted to surrender.
At 4:47 p.m., Wednesday, Pride turned himself in and was transported to the Panola County Detention Center.
He is charged with first-degree murder.
