Rankin County Deputy Jonathan Sanford has a growing work selfie collection of cute animals and made his most recent addition late last week.
Sanford has recently been the subject of other Darkhorse stories, including one where he and some neighborhood kids rescued a baby alligator that had wandered away from the water, and one with a rogue monkey who locked his owner out of a vehicle and got naked and smeared sweet potatoes all over his body. The monkey’s body, not Sanford’s.
The newest cute animal call was an opossum that had gotten locked in a garage storage room in Castlewoods. Sanford was able to get the little marsupial under control and into custody, and he was relocated to a safer environment.
If this trend continues, Sanford might need his own Animal Cop show.
