According to Investigator William Spencer with the Sunflower County Sheriff’s Department, a 31-week pregnant woman was shot in the left side of her neck and shoulder Monday.
The incident happened around 5:00 p.m. at 138 Romine-Morgan Road in Sunflower.
The woman was home with her 15-year-old son and her 3-year-old son at the time of the shooting.
Her husband, who was at work, called 911 to report what happened. He drove his wife to the hospital.
This is an active investigation and no suspect has been named at this time.
She is at UMMC and is expected to be okay. Her unborn child is also expected to be okay.
