Two people are behind bars after a chase involving Jackson Police Department and what were believed to be two murder suspects crossed over from Jackson into Rankin County on Thursday night.
According to Rankin County Sheriff’s Department’s Paul Holley, Jackson Police Department contacted Rankin County agencies and advised that they were chasing two homicide suspects in a small white Nissan sedan.
Rankin agencies joined the pursuit when the chase came into Rankin County on Highway 25. Officers followed the suspects from Flowood to Pearl and into Brandon, then up Highway 471, where it finally wrecked just about a ile south of Highway 25 near Oakdale Road.
Holley said a man and a woman were taken into custody and turned over to Jackson police.
Nobody was injured in the pursuit. The identity of the suspects has not yet been released.
