The Pearl Police Department has received reports from residents saying a caller is identifying themselves as a specific officer from Pearl claiming they owe court fines.
The scammer then allegedly is asking people to immediately pay the fine over the phone with a credit or debit card.
Pearl PD nor Court Services will never ask you to pay a fine over the phone, according to a post from Pearl police. They advise that you do not give your credit or debit card information to anyone over the phone.
