Pearl police shot at in Jackson following pursuit

A Pearl police officer was shot at five times after attempting a traffic stop on a vehicle that fled to Jackson.

Pearl police chief Dean Scott said one of his officers attempted to stop the suspect who fled and then wrecked at the corner of Monument Street and Bailey Avenue in Jackson. At that point, five shots were fired at the officer.

Scott said the suspect in the pursuit was arrested, but police are still searching for the shooter or shooters.
