One man is dead and two more are behind bars after an argument turned fatal in Oxford Thursday.
A release from Oxford Police Department Friday said that around 5:21 p.m. Thursday police responded to a call of a disturbance. During the fight, a shot was fired, striking Quintin McDonald, 29, of Como. McDonald died of his injuries shortly afterward.
Officers located the suspect, later identified as Paul Rice, 26, of Oxford, and took him into custody without incident.
Rice was charged with first degree murder. Jermaine Cox, 40, also of Oxford, was charged with tampering with evidence and possession of weapon by a convicted felon.
Rice was issued a $1,000,000 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court judge. Cox was issued a $100,000 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court judge.
