
On Monday, a man accused in the death of Ole Miss student Jimmie “Jay” Lee was indicted by a grand jury in Lafayette County.
On March 27th, 2023, the Oxford Police Department presented its case against Sheldon Timothy Herrington Jr., 22, from Grenada. After a day and a half of testimony, the Grand Jury indicted Herrington on the charge of Capital Murder.
“We would like to thank all the law enforcement agencies and the District Attorney’s Office for their hard work during this investigation,” read a statement fro the Oxford Police Department. “This is still an ongoing investigation. Herrington was served this morning by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, officials said.
Herrington is still under his previous bond set by Third Circuit Judicial District Court. Authorities say trial dates and proceedings will be set at a later date.
