STARKVILLE — Kids in the Golden Triangle area will get a taste of entrepreneurship this weekend when Lemonade Day comes to the region Saturday.
The free program teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own lemonade stand business, with the broader goal of building financial literacy, life skills and career readiness.
Each registered child receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook covering budgeting, goal-setting, customer service, repaying investors and giving back to the community. Children keep all the money they earn and are encouraged to save some, spend some and share some.
Organizers say the program is designed to help young people take ownership of their futures and develop the problem-solving skills and self-esteem needed for long-term success.
Registration is free and open now at lemonadeday.org/golden-triangle.
