MERIDIAN – The Meridian Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 2200 block of State Boulevard at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Monday.
According to Assistant Chief Dareall Thompson, officers were dispatched following reports that a male subject had been shot during an altercation inside a residence.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was reportedly shot in the hand.
Within minutes of officers arriving in the area, a suspect was taken into custody approximately one block from the scene.
Preliminary information indicates this was an isolated incident, and the two males involved were known to each other.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is being released at this time.
