MADISON- After more than three years at the Webster Animal Shelter, Maggie is still waiting for the right person to take her home.
Maggie, a 5-year-old dog with a big personality and lots of love to give, has been at the shelter since March 2022. Shelter staff say she deserves a forever home after patiently waiting far longer than most dogs.
Maggie’s favorite things include soft squeaky toys, which she happily plays with and may even share with someone she trusts.
When it comes to people, Maggie tends to bond most closely with women, although she has connected with some men as well. Shelter staff say she would do best in a home without young children and ideally as the only pet.
However, Maggie has shown she can get along with certain male dogs with slow, proper introductions. Staff say she has formed bonds with a few of the male dogs at the shelter.
Maggie is an active dog who loves spending time outdoors. Despite being a little overweight at the moment, she enjoys running and would make a great walking or jogging companion.
Because she likes to explore, Maggie will need a secure environment. Shelter staff recommend a sturdy wooden or iron fence, a tall chain-link fence, or plenty of safe outdoor space where she can stretch her legs.
Maggie has been spayed, is heartworm negative and is up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies.
Her adoption fee is $100, and the shelter accepts cash or check.
Please go visit and give this sweet girl a chance. She has been waiting far too long for a forever home and she is so deserving!
